Mahou is Spain's most iconic beer — a Madrid institution since 1890 — and when the brand commissioned Hoist Media to design and build an experiential installation, the brief was clear: create a space as visceral and enveloping as Mahou's red identity.

Hoist designed Seeing Red as a fully immersive tunnel. Hundreds of red corrugated hoses fan from a central overhead column, running the full length of the space and lit by neon strips that saturate everything in Mahou's signature deep red. At the far end, the Mahou name glows in neon — the reveal at the end of an environment engineered from entry to payoff.

The installation rewarded time spent inside it. The hoses shifted in light and depth as visitors moved through; the overhead canopy created a sense of being inside the brand rather than observing it from the outside. Benches inside invited people to sit with it, letting the effect settle.

Designed and constructed entirely from scratch by Hoist, Seeing Red was built to be photographed and to be felt — two things that are harder to engineer simultaneously than they sound. In Madrid's competitive experiential landscape, it cut through cleanly: immersive, brand-precise, and genuinely fun to be inside.
