For the final season of Queen Sugar on OWN, Hoist Media installed something rarely seen on city streets: large-scale signage built entirely from living moss. The Queen Sugar wallscape wasn't painted or printed — it grew.

Working with live moss adhered directly to building exteriors, Hoist spelled out the show's title in organic, textured lettering that blurred the line between advertisement and ecology. On Hollywood Boulevard, the living billboard commanded a full building face above the pedestrian flow. In New Orleans and Atlanta — markets that connect directly to the show's story and its audience — corner buildings wore the green lettering like it had always been there.

The campaign demanded production expertise well beyond a standard mural: sourcing moss varieties durable enough for outdoor installation in three different climates, developing the adhesion system to support living material at scale, and executing across three markets in tight campaign windows. Hoist handled everything from site selection through final installation.

The result earned attention on its own terms — not just from Queen Sugar's existing audience, but from strangers on the sidewalk who stopped to figure out what they were looking at. When an outdoor advertisement generates that kind of genuine curiosity, it's no longer just an ad. It's something else.
